Bio: Can trace its history to a Louisville, Kentucky based group named Matrix put together in 1983 by brothers Dale (vocals/bass) and Troy (guitars) Thompson. Four demo tapes followed over the next three years. Matrix got its break when it opened for Daniel Band in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, a show attended by executives from Refuge Music Group. Six months later the band, now known as Bride, signed with Refuge/Pure Metal.
Three records were recorded by Bride on Pure Metal: Show No Mercy (1986), Live To Die (1988) and Silence Is Madness (1989). The former two featured guitarist Steve Osborne and latter two bassist Frank Partipilo. Drummer Stephen Rolland participated on all three.
Recorded a pair of number one hit songs, “Everybody Knows My Name” and “Same O’ Sinner”, for the 1990 compilation End Of The Age, which led to a three album deal with Star Song.
Solidified line up with bassist Rik Foley and drummer Jerry McBroom before reaching creative and artistic pinnacle with the Star Song releases Kinetic Faith (1991), Snakes In The Playground (1992) and Scarecrow Messiah (1994).
Bride also landed the opening slot in Stryper’s late 1991 tour of the Midwest and the East Coast. Dale was later offered the lead vocalist position in Stryper – following the departure of Michael Sweet – but turned it down.

After the exit of Foley and recruitment of replacement Steve Curtsinger, a deal was signed with Rugged Records for the 1995 release Drop.
Bride joined the Organic Records roster for The Jesus Experience (1997) and Oddities (1998). Same line up maintained for the former while Lawrence Bishop replaced Curtsinger on the latter.
Turn of the century found Bride on Absolute Records for Fist Full Of Bees (with newcomer Michael Loy on drums) from 2001 before independently releasing This Is It (featuring the same line up) two years later.
Signed to Retroactive Records for Skin For Skin (2006), which included Bishop but not Loy. Bride’s swan song effort Tsar Bomba (2009), another Retroactive release, saw Jerry McBroom return to the fold and G.D. Watts replace Bishop.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to Bride’s extensive back catalog this page is devoted to studio releases only. For live albums and compilations please select the appropriate link: Bride Live, Bride Compilation
Of Interest: Dale & Troy have recorded three songs for the all-star project Liberty N’ Justice: “Grenade” from Soundtrack Of A Soul (2006), “Author Of The Flame” from The Best Of LNJ (2008) and "The Other Thief" from Light It Up (2009). Dale also added vocals to the track “Cain 2 Abel” from Welcome To The Revolution (2004).
Current Status: Released final studio album, Tsar Bomba, on Retroactive Records in 2009.
