Bio: Guitarist Dave Enos and vocalist Larry Phillips put together Emerald in December of 1978. After going through a revolving door of bassists and drummers, the group finalized its classic line up upon recruiting Kyle Morrett (drums) and Joe Palma (bass).
Emerald chosen for bands name due to its versatility: not only does it represent a stone in the throne of God but it does not force you to place a label on the band in terms of the style of music it plays.
Debut EP Armed For Battle was released on March 27, 1987. Recorded the tracks “Traitor” and “Born To Die” for the California Metal II compilation in addition to placing one more, “Battle Ground”, on the White Metal Invasion cassette before disbanding in late 1988.

Of Interest: Original bassist Roger Martin went on to join Vengeance Rising, Die Happy and Once Dead.
Current Status: Reunited in to play the 2007 Cornerstone Festival.
