Bio: Swedish Christian metal pioneers that – along with Jerusalem and Charizma – helped pave the way for other Swedish acts to follow such as Veni Domine, NARNIA, XT and Laudamus.
Leviticus was formed in the early eighties by guitarist Bjorn Stigsson, vocalist/bassist Hakan Andersson and drummer Kjell Andersson. The three put together a four song demo (Sta Och Titta Pa from 1982) before releasing the group’s full length debut, I Shall Conquer, on Talking Music two years later. The sophomore effort The Strongest Power followed on Twilight Records in 1985.
Vocalist Terry H. and bassist Ez Gomer replaced the departed Hakan Andersson for Setting Fire To The Earth from 1987 (Royal Music).
The 1989 Royal Music follow up release Knights Of Heaven featured Peo Pettersson and Niklas Frannklin on lead vocals and bass respectively.

Leviticus broke up in the early nineties only to re-unite for a performance at the 2003 Bobfest Festival in Sweden, which was recorded and released as a live album entitled Live At Bobfest 2003.
Of Interest: Bjorn Stigsson recorded a solo album entitled Together With Friends in 1989. After their departure from Leviticus, Terry H. and Ez Gomer formed Jet Circus and put out the debut effort Step On It (1989). Stigsson later recorded three albums in XT with vocalist Sonny Larson: XT (1992), Tax Free (1993) and Extended Empire (1995).
Current Status: Rumors persisted of a new Levitcus studio album following the release of Live At Bobfest 2003. No updates, however, have been received from the group in over five years.
