Bio: Founded in Athens, Georgia by vocalist/guitarist Matt Smith with the idea of combining powerful music with a Christian message.  A three song demo was recorded in 2001, which made its way into the hands of Metal Ages Records owner Deron Blevins, who made Theocracy first band signed to the label.

Theocracy’s 2003 self-titled debut was a one man project in that Smith handled all aspects of the recording process, including lead and choir vocals, rhythm, lead, acoustic and bass guitars, keyboards and orchestration and drum programming.  Smith also engineered, produced and mixed the project.

Five years passed before Theocracy signed with Ulterium Records and released its sophomore album, Mirror Of Souls.  During this period Smith turned Theocracy into a full piece band, having recruited a drummer (Shawn Benson) and second guitarist (Jon Hinds).

Current Status: New album, As The World Bleeds, to be released in North America (via Nightmare Records) on November 21, 2011 and Europe (via Ulterium Records) on November 25, 2011. Also released a Mirror Of Souls digibook and a 7” single of the bonus track “Wages Of Sin” on October 7, 2011.
